Prominent Nollywood filmmaker Biodun Stephen has sparked controversy after reacting strongly to the viral video showing Fuji music star KWAM 1 reconciling with his teenage son from actress Bisola Badmus.
Filmmaker's Strong Reaction to Viral Moment
In a recently shared video, Stephen appeared visibly irritated by the clip that has been circulating on social media platforms. The video captured the moment when KWAM 1, whose real name is Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, acknowledged his son during a performance and embraced him, declaring that the teenager had "finally come back home."
Stephen questioned the authenticity of the emotional moment and expressed bewilderment at why fellow actresses were celebrating Bisola Badmus over the development. "Why are they rejoicing? Why does Bisola look relieved?" the filmmaker demanded in her video response.
Questioning the Public Display
The director didn't hold back her criticism of both parties involved. She suggested that Bisola Badmus shouldn't have allowed her son to greet KWAM 1 in the first place, especially given the music star's previous treatment of the actress.
Stephen pointed out the irony that Badmus, who had received financial donations from colleagues just months earlier, was now being celebrated for this public reconciliation. She emphasized that KWAM 1 had previously shamed Badmus publicly because of their son, making the current display of affection seem disingenuous.
Social Media Reactions and Support
The filmmaker's strong stance resonated with many social media users who shared their thoughts in the comments section. One user, @rhodaowolabi, commented: "You have a point but I won't use emotions to judge this matter. It's time women see their bodies as a treasure and should only be shared with someone who places value on it."
Another commenter, @dambolus, speculated that other celebrities might have influenced the son to approach his father during the performance, suggesting that the mother might not have approved of the public interaction.
@beautifulfacesbyalexandra expressed similar sentiments, writing: "God bless u ma. I felt irritated as well. I almost cried. He should do more with all his wealth and influence."
The controversy highlights the ongoing discussion about celebrity relationships, parental responsibilities, and the appropriateness of resolving personal matters in the public eye within Nigeria's entertainment industry.
