Iyabo Ojo's Concert Encounter: Overzealous Fan Sparks Concern with Excessive Pecking
Fan Grabs, Pecks Iyabo Ojo Repeatedly at Lagos Concert

A recent incident involving popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo and an overenthusiastic admirer at a concert has ignited conversations online about celebrity safety and fan boundaries.

Concert Celebration Takes Unexpected Turn

The event was a sold-out concert in Lagos on December 19, 2025, headlined by Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, who is married to Iyabo Ojo's daughter, Priscilla. The singer had a touching moment on stage, calling his wife up to celebrate her and their son, Rakeem.

While Iyabo Ojo was watching the festivities from the sidelines, a male fan approached her. In a gesture of deep respect, the fan was seen prostrating fully on the ground to greet the actress. As she tried to help him up, he requested a hug.

The Concerning Interaction Unfolds

After the initial hug, the fan asked for and received another embrace. The situation then escalated beyond a typical greeting. The man began pecking the actress on the cheek repeatedly. Eyewitnesses and the video suggested the pecks were excessive, with some online commentators humorously estimating the count to be around 1500 times.

The fan, who addressed Iyabo Ojo as "Aunty Mi," was eventually led away by others who intervened. Before leaving, he reportedly stated that he had fulfilled a long-standing promise to himself to hug and peck the actress multiple times upon meeting her.

Mixed Reactions from Concerned Netizens

The viral video prompted a wave of reactions from fans and social media users. Many expressed genuine worry for the actress's safety during the intense encounter.

One prevalent concern, expressed jokingly but pointedly, was about the fan's personal hygiene. Comments like "But hope he was smelling nice" and worries that he might "choke the actress with his body odour" highlighted the uncomfortable intimacy of the act.

Others were more direct in their alarm, with some fearing the enthusiastic fan might accidentally strangle the mother of two. The calls for intervention in the video were clear.

However, not all comments were critical. One Instagram user, @oluwakemitawio, defended the fan, identifying him as "Rashy Don" and explaining that he is a known, die-hard supporter of Iyabo Ojo and her family who had always vowed to show his affection in such a manner.

This incident comes shortly after Iyabo Ojo was visited by her colleague, Funke Akindele, and as her daughter Priscilla's wedding celebrations continued in Tanzania, keeping the family in the public eye.
