Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has raised a public alarm, expressing deep fear for the safety of her close friend, identified only as Ann, following her arrest. Daniels directly linked the arrest to her ongoing and highly publicized dispute with her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
A Public Plea on Social Media
The actress made her concerns known on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, via a lengthy and emotional post on her official Instagram page. She revealed that the arrest of her "dearest best friend" had taken place the previous day, Monday.
In her statement, Regina Daniels questioned the motives behind the arrest and cast doubt on its legality. "I hate to believe or further promote the idea of the Nigerian police force’s lack of credibility. I fear for Ann’s safety as all of these are not being done legally," she wrote, directly addressing her ex-husband.
Escalating Allegations in a Prolonged Feud
This incident marks the latest chapter in a conflict that first spilled into the public domain in late 2025 when Regina Daniels accused Senator Nwoko of domestic violence—an allegation he has denied.
In her Instagram post, Daniels pointedly questioned the shifting nature of the accusations. "How did a case of domestic violence get overshadowed by drug addiction and now theft?" she asked. She was referring to Nwoko's previous allegations of substance abuse against her, which she has strongly rejected, and the newer claims of theft.
The actress claimed there is now a warrant for her own arrest and that of some family members, including her brother Sammy West. This is connected to an alleged theft of $40,000 from Senator Nwoko's residence, an accusation Regina has vehemently denied. She insisted that the senator does not keep such cash at home.
Her brother, Sammy West, was earlier arrested and detained over allegations of criminal conspiracy and theft before being granted bail. Regina Daniels has consistently maintained that all these accusations are false and part of a calculated campaign to discredit her.
Unanswered Questions and a Call for Clarity
As of the time of reporting, the Nigeria Police Force has not issued any official statement regarding Ann's arrest or specified the exact offence for which she is being investigated. This lack of official communication has further fueled concerns about the circumstances surrounding the detention.
In her social media outburst, Regina Daniels accused Senator Nwoko of enjoying the "social media banter" and entertainment value of their public feud. "It is now clear that he enjoys this social media banter or should I say entertainment? But to what end Ned?" she concluded, leaving the conflict unresolved and the safety of her friend a central concern.
