MultiChoice has officially announced that the highly anticipated fourth season of the Showmax Original drama Wura will premiere on March 30, 2026. The new season will feature an expanded format of 130 episodes airing daily, as producers aim to broaden audience reach and enhance viewer engagement across Africa.
Expanded Broadcast Access and Daily Programming
During a virtual press briefing, Atinuke Babatunde, Executive Head of Content and Channels for West Africa at MultiChoice, revealed the detailed broadcast schedule. Wura Season 4 will air every day at 8:00 PM on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv Channel 151, GOtv Channel 8) and at 8:30 PM on Africa Magic Family (DStv Channel 154, GOtv Channel 7). This daily programming strategy is designed to reinforce consistency and deepen the connection with audiences.
Shift to Deeper Emotional Storytelling and Character Development
Producers have indicated a significant narrative shift for the new season, moving away from external drama to focus on richer emotional storytelling. Screenwriter Musa Jeffery explained that the season will explore character motivations and personal struggles, particularly examining the balance between nature and nurture. "We're looking at what makes a character tick, we want them to understand her," Jeffery stated, emphasizing the deeper psychological exploration of the lead role.
Other characters will also undergo substantial transformations, including Tumi's evolution into an activist fighting for justice and Iyabo Kuti's rise into a leadership position. The production team maintained high standards by filming parts of the season in rural mining communities to enhance authenticity and deliver a more emotionally layered experience.

Lead actress Scarlet Gomez, who portrays Wura Amoo-Adeleke, hinted at a major plot twist that will significantly impact her character's journey.
