Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has reignited his campaign for justice in the controversial death of late singer Ilerioluwa Imole Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, by releasing what he describes as implicating chat messages with the singer's brother.
Explosive WhatsApp Conversation Revealed
In a recent Instagram post, Fabiyi shared a WhatsApp conversation he allegedly had with Mohbad's brother, Hadurah Aloba. The chat contains startling claims about the circumstances surrounding the singer's untimely death in 2023. According to the revealed messages, Hadurah claimed to possess video evidence that could resolve the ongoing controversy about his brother's passing.
The chat suggests that Mohbad's widow, Wunmi, should be held responsible for the tragedy. Hadurah allegedly stated in the messages that Wunmi pushed Mohbad during an altercation, causing him to hit his head on the floor, which ultimately led to his death.
Financial Demands and Police Involvement
The conversation took an unexpected turn when Hadurah allegedly requested N3 million from Fabiyi before he would share the purported video evidence. Fabiyi responded that he would provide the money and also assist with police case proceedings. However, when Fabiyi didn't immediately send the requested amount, Hadurah reportedly threatened to give the video to someone else.
This development comes after Hadurah was arrested last year in connection with his brother's death. Fabiyi had reported the case to the police, leading to Hadurah's detention. The situation had previously caused Mohbad's mother to publicly express her distress, specifically mentioning Fabiyi's name and expressing fear about losing another son.
Ongoing Justice Campaign and Previous Reconciliation
Fabiyi had temporarily paused his activism for Mohbad to support his colleague, Baba Ijesha, who was facing assault charges involving a minor. Now returning to the case, the actor has intensified his demands for justice, directly appealing to President Bola Tinubu in his recent social media posts.
Interestingly, Fabiyi and Hadurah had previously reconciled after the initial tension. They held a joint press conference where Hadurah clarified what he knew about his late brother's death. However, the newly revealed chat messages suggest underlying tensions and unresolved issues in the case.
This isn't the first time Fabiyi has shared these WhatsApp conversations. He had previously posted similar chats months ago, threatening to implicate both Wunmi and Hadurah in Mohbad's death. The actor has consistently promised that he would not rest until those responsible for the singer's death are brought to justice.
The case continues to generate significant public interest in Nigeria's entertainment scene, with fans and colleagues of the late singer eagerly awaiting conclusive answers about the circumstances that led to his tragic demise.
