A new herbal wellness product from Ghana has made its formal debut in Nigeria, promising to bolster the country's alternative medicine landscape. Thorntina-74, developed by Diagnostic Herbal Industry (DHI) of Ghana, was officially launched into the Nigerian market on 20 December 2025.
Formal Launch and Regulatory Confidence
Speaking at the launch event, the Country Manager for the product in Nigeria, Mr Henry Seymour, emphasized the significance of this introduction. He stated that the launch marks the formal entry of a product that showcases the strength of African herbal innovation. Seymour, who was represented by Mr Yinka Adeoti, a former travel officer with the United States Consulate General in Lagos, provided key assurances to the Nigerian public.
The product has received full approval from the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for sale within the country. "We are particularly proud that Thorntina-74 has met all regulatory requirements and received full NAFDAC approval. Nigerians can be assured that this is a product they can trust," Seymour affirmed.
International Track Record and Distribution Strategy
The Country Manager highlighted the product's existing success in other African markets. According to him, Thorntina-74 has gained wide acceptance in Ghana, South Africa, and Sierra Leone, where thousands of users reportedly rely on it for general wellbeing, immune support, and daily vitality. "This strong international track record gives us confidence as we begin our journey in the Nigerian market," he added.
Regarding availability, Seymour explained that Thorntina-74 will not be sold openly in general markets. Instead, it will be distributed exclusively through a network of accredited agents and selected pharmacy outlets. This controlled distribution model is intended to ensure product integrity and proper consumer guidance.
Vision for African Herbal Excellence
Seymour further elaborated on the role of alternative medicine, noting that while orthodox medicine remains vital, herbal solutions have provided relief where some ailments defy conventional treatment. "Our vision is to build Thorntina-74 into one of Nigeria’s most trusted herbal wellness brands; one that reflects African excellence, regulatory compliance, and shared economic growth," he stated.
Also present at the event was Dr Kwame Osei-Konadu, the Director of DHI Ghana. He reinforced the organization's mission to bring healthcare solutions to people in need. Dr Osei-Konadu stressed that despite the multitude of herbal products available, Thorntina-74 stands out due to its formulation and purpose. He expressed confidence that the product would continue its mission of improving lives by boosting immunity and supporting overall health for Nigerian consumers.
The launch positions Thorntina-74 as a new contender in Nigeria's growing herbal and wellness sector, backed by regulatory approval and a stated commitment to quality and African-centric healthcare innovation.
