The Lagos State APC Women Leader, Alhaja Rofiat Iyabosola Eletu, has called on women to take the lead in driving environmental change across the state. Speaking during the monthly environmental sanitation exercise at Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA, alongside First Lady Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, Eletu stressed that the foundation of a Greater Lagos begins in the home.
Women as Agents of Change
Eletu highlighted the pivotal role women play as primary influencers within families. She argued that sustainable behavioral change starts with household hygiene. "If we can govern the hygiene of our households, we can surely govern the hygiene of our streets," she said. "When we maintain a spotless home, we raise children who value order. A clean home is a sanctuary that wards off disease and fosters peace of mind."
A Call to Action
The Women Leader issued a rallying cry for all Lagos women to reject filth in their communities and take charge of their environment. She noted that such efforts are an investment in the health of future generations. Eletu emphasized that environmental sanitation must be a daily commitment, not limited to monthly exercises. "Cleanliness is a lifestyle, not an event," she concluded.
