The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) President, Samir Xaud, is facing allegations that he misused federation funds to finance personal travel and accommodation for women with whom he allegedly had relationships. The CBF has firmly denied these claims.
Alleged New York Trip with Mistress
According to Brazilian news outlet Portal Leo Dias, Xaud used federation funds to fly fitness entrepreneur Camila Cristina Andrade to New York. She reportedly stayed eight days at the Hyatt Regency Grand Central in Manhattan, with a reservation allegedly under Xaud's name. The hotel stay cost approximately $11,500.
Photos published by the outlet show Xaud and Andrade dining at Harry Cipriani on June 3 before departing in a vehicle allegedly rented by the federation. Days later, Xaud reportedly left Andrade in New York, flew back to Brazil to attend a women's national team match against the United States on June 8, then headed to Mexico City to reunite with his wife of over 20 years, Natalia Xaud, with whom he shares three children.
Additional Allegations
Portal Leo Dias also reported that Xaud used federation funds to send model and influencer Tamares Fernandes Barcellos to Qatar for a FIFA Intercontinental World Cup match in December 2025. The trip allegedly included a business-class flight on Emirates and a stay at the Ritz-Carlton Doha from December 15-19. Documents obtained by the outlet reportedly show the federation paid nearly $3,400 for the hotel.
The outlet claims that since Xaud became president, he has used federation funds to cover travel expenses for family members, friends, and other women attending sports events outside Brazil.
CBF's Response
The Brazilian Football Confederation quickly rejected the allegations. In a statement to Radio Itatiaia, the organization said: “The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) rejects the information regarding the alleged misuse of the entity’s funds published today by the Léo Dias portal. Expenses incurred by the entity are exclusively linked to the CBF’s institutional activities, and personal expenses of its directors are covered by themselves. The current CBF administration is based on the pillars of transparency, administrative responsibility, and a commitment to integrity. The CBF reiterates that it remains available for any further clarification.”
According to online news outlet Infobae, Xaud paid for the New York hotel charges on Sunday after being contacted by Portal Leo Dias.
