Aliko Dangote, Africa's wealthiest individual, has disclosed the largest sum he has ever earned within a single year. During a conversation with James Dumoulin of The School of Hard Knocks, Dangote revealed that he generated an impressive $10 billion in just the first quarter of a year.
When questioned about the peak annual earnings he has achieved, the Nigerian billionaire responded, “First quarter, we did about $10 billion.” The interview also touched on his overall wealth, specifically addressing the $38 billion valuation attributed to him by Forbes magazine.
Dangote appeared to downplay that figure, suggesting that his actual net worth might be considerably higher. He pointed out that several of his business ventures are not publicly traded, which could mean their true value is not fully reflected in public estimates.
Later in the interview, Dangote was asked how he wishes to be remembered. His response was succinct: “I want to be remembered as somebody who industrialised Africa.”
