Philippines 2026 Visa-Free List for African Countries Released
Philippines 2026 Visa-Free List for African Countries

The Philippines Department of Foreign Affairs has published the official list of African countries whose nationals can enter the country without a visa in 2026. Eligible travelers from 46 African nations can stay for an initial period of 30 days, provided they meet specific passport and travel document conditions.

Requirements for Visa-Free Entry

To qualify, travelers must hold a passport valid for at least six months beyond their intended stay and carry a return ticket to their home country or an onward ticket to their next destination. The visa-free privilege is granted under Executive Order No. 408 and its subsequent amendments.

However, the visa-free arrangement does not guarantee admission. Immigration officers at Philippine ports of entry still assess each traveler individually. Those who do not qualify can apply for a visa through Philippine diplomatic and consular posts abroad.

Meanwhile, the Philippines biodiversity hotspot of Palawan, which holds vast nickel deposits, has pushed back against mining. In 2021, Manila lifted a nine-year ban on mining licenses, aiming to catch up with Indonesia, once the world's largest nickel exporter.
