The Henley Passport Index ranks passports based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). In the latest ranking, Singapore holds the second position with 152 visa-free destinations, followed by Japan and several European countries tied for third place with 151 destinations. The United States and United Kingdom passports rank lower, at 8th and 9th places respectively, with 140 and 139 visa-free destinations.
The UAE's achievement is particularly notable given its rapid ascent. In 2014, the UAE passport ranked 55th globally, offering access to only 72 destinations.
