In a strategic move to enhance his prospects for the 2027 governorship race, Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirant in Oyo State, recently reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining the developmental achievements of Governor Seyi Makinde. Ajadi described Makinde as a "talk-and-do leader" and emphasized his ambition is driven by a desire to build on the solid foundation already established in the state.

Ajadi made these statements while hosting executive members of the Secretary Forum, comprising political appointees from all 33 local government areas of Oyo State, at his residence in Ibadan. The gathering, held on a Sunday, saw a significant turnout despite short notice, reflecting strong grassroots engagement and unity within the party.
"Governor Seyi Makinde has done well for Oyo State. I aspire to ensure continuity of this good governance and build on the solid foundation already laid," Ajadi declared during the event. He expressed gratitude to the forum for their attendance, noting that their collective presence demonstrated a shared dedication to the state's progress and future development.
Forum's Pledge of Support
The Secretary Forum, represented by its secretary Oyelami Joel, pledged unwavering support for Ajadi's gubernatorial ambition. Joel commended Ajadi for his role in stabilizing the PDP during a period of internal crisis, highlighting his efforts to unite party members across the state.
"He came into the party at a time of internal crisis and has worked tirelessly to unite members. His consultations across the state are visible to all," Joel noted, underscoring Ajadi's impact as a unifying figure within the Oyo PDP.

Other forum members echoed similar sentiments, praising Ajadi's accessibility and commitment. Tope Alice Aworele, the forum's coordinator from Egbeda Local Government, described his political activities as impactful statewide, while Olaniyi Oluwafunke, Secretary from Ogbomoso North, emphasized that no other aspirant had engaged the forum as extensively.
Ahmed Kazeem and Kareem Kazeem from Ibadan South-East Local Government highlighted the forum's political relevance, with members including former local government chairmen, and urged Ajadi to emulate Makinde's governance style if selected as the party's flag bearer. The event concluded with special prayers for Ajadi's success, led by Alhaji Hammed Hassan Elerukanfila, who called for inclusive governance focusing on both rural development and urban planning.
