All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Joe Igbokwe has congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory in the 2026 governorship election. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Adeleke the winner on Sunday, August 16, after a closely contested race.
Igbokwe Praises Adeleke's Victory
In a Facebook post, Igbokwe wrote: “Congratulations to Governor Adeleke of Osun State, the Imole and the happiest Governor in Nigeria.” He added, “It has been very keen contest. I salute the people of Osun State for their resilience and commitment to democracy. We are democrats. We move!!!. To God be the glory.”
The post reflects Igbokwe's recognition of Adeleke's achievement despite the stiff competition from the APC candidate.
Election Results and Margin
According to INEC, Adeleke secured 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the APC, who polled 444,815 votes. The margin of victory was 66,252 votes.
This victory ensures Adeleke's second term in office, a testament to his popularity among the electorate in Osun State.
