Delta Governor Oborevwori Urges APC to Deliver Massive Votes for Tinubu in 2027

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has issued a directive to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, calling for overwhelming support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all other elective offices in the upcoming 2027 general elections. The governor emphasized that the party's electoral performance will be crucial in determining its strength and capacity to attract federal presence and benefits.

High-Level Meeting at Government House, Asaba

Governor Oborevwori delivered this charge on Friday during a high-level meeting with APC stakeholders at the Government House in Asaba. The gathering focused on key party issues, including unity, electronic registration, grassroots mobilisation, and readiness ahead of forthcoming party congresses. He stressed that political relevance at the national level is directly tied to performance at the polls, noting that the volume of votes delivered by the Delta APC would shape its bargaining power within the ruling party and at the federal level.

According to Oborevwori, leadership legitimacy derives from the people and must be anchored in humility, empathy, and service. He urged stakeholders to subordinate personal ambitions to the collective interest, cautioning against internal divisions and avoidable conflicts. The governor insisted that unity remains the APC's greatest asset as it prepares for key political milestones, adding that such meetings provide opportunities to assess progress, reinforce party structures, and align strategies ahead of congresses.

Minister Keyamo and Other Leaders Weigh In

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Chief Festus Keyamo, SAN, also addressed the meeting, calling on members to remain focused as the party approaches its congresses. He commended the progress in the ongoing e-registration exercise and the growing diversity within the party. Keyamo warned against rumours and unnecessary delays, advocating for early engagement, dialogue, and consensus-building at the ward and local government levels to minimise tension.

Immediate past Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, thanked Governor Oborevwori for convening the meeting, describing his visit to the Government House after many years as a strong signal of inclusiveness. Omo-Agege pledged to work with the governor and other stakeholders to strengthen the APC in Delta State.

National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Felix Morka, praised the governor's leadership style and the digitalisation of the party's membership register. He recommended a consensus-driven approach for the forthcoming congresses to consolidate unity within the party.

State APC Chairman Highlights Progress

In his welcome address, the State APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, reported that the party had recorded over 90 per cent realignment since April 2025. He described the stakeholders' meeting as clear evidence of growing unity, renewed momentum, and readiness for the 2027 electoral contest. Sobotie emphasized that effective mobilisation, registration, and participation would ultimately determine electoral outcomes, echoing the governor's call for a united front.

This meeting underscores the APC's strategic preparations for the 2027 elections, with Delta State playing a pivotal role in the party's national ambitions. The focus on unity and performance highlights the importance of grassroots support in shaping political power and federal benefits.
