Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2026 Osun governorship election, cast his vote on Saturday, expressing confidence that he would emerge victorious. He spoke to reporters after voting at his polling unit in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area.
Voting Process and Voter Turnout
Oyebamiji arrived at Unit 11, Ward 9, Open Space Gantry Sawmill, Ikire, at 10:45 a.m. He was accompanied by his wife, Sekinat. He was accredited immediately and then cast his vote.
He commended the voter turnout, stating that the presence of INEC officials, voters, and security operatives at the polling unit was a positive sign. “INEC (people) are here; the voters are here; security operatives are here. I want to commend the large turnout of voters in Ikire,” he said.
Confidence in Election Credibility
Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, expressed optimism that the election would be peaceful and credible. He called on the police and other security operatives to be proactive in ensuring the safety of all citizens throughout the state.
“I believe the election will be credible, and I am confident that I will win this election at the end of the day,” he said.
He noted that the large turnout demonstrates that people are not intimidated, adding that “generally, things are going on fine across the state.”
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported the details of his visit and voting. The election is being held across Osun State, with other candidates also casting their votes earlier in the day.
