The Accord Party secured victory at the polling unit where the Peoples Democratic Party's National Treasurer, Diran Odeyemi, cast his ballot during Saturday's Osun State governorship election, according to results reported by The Punch.
Accord's Win at Odeyemi's Polling Unit
At Ward 1, Unit 2, Ibokun NUD Primary School in Obokun Local Government Area, Accord polled 211 votes, defeating the APC, which came second with 178 votes. The result marks a notable upset at the unit level, as the ruling party in Osun outperformed the opposition where a key PDP official voted.
APC Dominates at Aregbesola's Unit
Meanwhile, at Ifofin Ward 8, Unit 1, in Ilesa East Local Government Area, where Rauf Aregbesola, National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), voted in the afternoon, the APC recorded 256 votes. The ADC managed only 13 votes, while Accord Party came in between with 43 votes.
Observers described the election across the state as largely peaceful, with a high voter turnout. At the time of filing this report, collation of results was still ongoing across all 30 local government areas of Osun State.
