Oyebanji Defeats ADC Candidate Bejide in His Own Ward in Ekiti

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has defeated the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, Ambassador Dare Bejide, in his own polling unit and ward during the Ekiti State governorship election. Results from Polling Unit 004, Ward 2 in Ekiti South-West Local Government Area showed Oyebanji securing 140 votes, while Bejide managed only 37 votes. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) trailed with just 2 votes.

Early Advantage for APC as Collation Continues

According to a report by Vanguard, the outcome gives the APC an early advantage as collation of results proceeds across the state. The result summary from PU 004, Ward 2 clearly indicates APC's dominance in the area, with Oyebanji's vote share dwarfing that of Bejide, the ADC candidate who hails from that ward.

Bejide Fails to Win His Own Polling Unit

The defeat in his home ward is a significant blow to Bejide's campaign, as candidates typically expect strong support from their immediate communities. The ADC candidate will need to rely on other areas to close the gap as results from other polling units are tallied.
