The political landscape in Nigeria is witnessing a significant development as a prominent support group has thrown its weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's potential second term bid. Partners Assured for Tinubu (PAT) has announced an ambitious nationwide movement to consolidate support for the President ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Nationwide Solidarity Movement Launched
During a press conference held in Abuja on November 17, 2025, PAT chairman Usman Saleh Hassan revealed the group's formal launch scheduled for November 20, 2025, at the Merit House in Maitama, Abuja. The event will carry the theme "Consolidating the Renewed Hope Agenda: A Strategic Partnership for National Progress."
Hassan emphasized that PAT aims to serve as a crucial pillar of support for Tinubu's administration, focusing on mobilizing grassroots backing and facilitating open dialogue between the government and citizens. "This launch signals the beginning of a more coordinated, inclusive, and people-centered support system that will help translate the Renewed Hope Agenda into tangible progress for all," he stated.
Massive Vote Commitment for 2027
In a bold declaration that has captured political attention, PAT has committed to delivering two million votes to President Tinubu in the 2027 elections. Hassan confidently announced that their membership base spans all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with over two million registered members who actively participate in elections using their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
"Our members are those who vote with PVCs. So come 2027, the president should start counting his votes from 2 million upward. PAT is giving the President 2 million votes," Hassan declared during the media briefing.
Administration Achievements Highlighted
The group pointed to several key achievements of the Tinubu administration that justify their support for his potential re-election bid. Among the notable programs highlighted were:
The Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) which has already supported over 600,000 beneficiaries in accessing educational opportunities.
The conditional cash transfer scheme that has provided financial relief to more than 71 million Nigerians, with beneficiaries receiving between ₦25,000 and ₦70,000 monthly.
The Technical and Vocational Educational Training (TVET) programme which has enrolled over 250,000 graduates, equipping them with practical skills for the workforce.
Hassan defended the administration's tough economic decisions, stating that "When you have a president who is ready to take tough decisions, I think all he deserves is sacrifice and support. When we sacrifice, we'll definitely see the results."
Broadening Support Base
The national secretary of PAT, Najeeb Babalikita, described the group's inauguration as a decisive moment in rallying patriotic Nigerians behind a vision that prioritizes stability, development, and inclusive progress. Other key members present at the briefing included director of strategic communication Charles Akanji, vice chairman Dr. Yahaya Abdullahi, and director of media and communication Femi Oyelade.
This development follows earlier reports of the Alliance for Energy Stability and Economic Growth (AESEG) declaring support for Tinubu's 2027 re-election, citing restored investor confidence in Nigeria's oil and gas sector under his leadership.
As the 2027 elections approach, these early expressions of support indicate the beginning of political alignments and campaign preparations that will shape Nigeria's democratic landscape in the coming years.
