Tinubu Appoints Okey Ezenwa as Anambra Renewed Hope Ambassador for 2027
Tinubu Names Okey Ezenwa Anambra Renewed Hope Ambassador

In a strategic move ahead of the 2027 general elections, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced a key political appointment aimed at bolstering support in the South-East region.

New Appointment for Anambra Mobilisation

President Bola Tinubu has officially appointed Chief Okey Ezenwa as the Renewed Hope Ambassador for Anambra State. The primary mandate of this role is to mobilise grassroots support and campaign for the president's anticipated re-election bid under the Renewed Hope Agenda in 2027.

The appointment was formally unveiled on Thursday, December 4, 2025. Ezenwa, a prominent chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra, is now part of a broader team of ambassadors tasked with driving the re-election campaign across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Ezenwa's Gratitude and Mandate

Addressing journalists in Awka, the Anambra state capital, after his unveiling, Okey Ezenwa expressed profound gratitude to President Tinubu for the significant political appointment. He described it as one of the most important roles of his political career.

The inauguration of the full team of Renewed Hope Ambassadors had taken place earlier in Abuja on Monday, December 1. The ceremony was performed on behalf of the President by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who also serves as the Chairman of the Progressive Governors' Forum (PGF).

Governor Uzodimma charged the newly appointed ambassadors to immediately return to their respective states and commence work towards ensuring the successful re-election of President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Broader Campaign Structure and Uzodimma's Role

This latest appointment is part of a wider campaign structure being erected by the APC. Recall that President Tinubu had recently, on Tuesday, November 25, appointed Governor Hope Uzodimma as a Renewed Hope Ambassador with an expanded portfolio.

According to a statement by presidential aide Bayo Onanuga, Governor Uzodimma will double as the Director-General for the party's outreach, engagement, and mobilisation efforts. The president expects Uzodimma and his colleagues to vigorously promote and disseminate the administration's achievements and milestones since 2023, reinforcing the message of Renewed Hope across Nigeria.

The president also emphasised the need for the ambassadors to ensure Nigerians are fully aware and understand the tangible accomplishments of his government.

These strategic appointments signal the commencement of early and coordinated mobilisation efforts by the ruling party, setting the stage for what is expected to be a highly contested 2027 presidential election.
