Nigeria has reciprocated Rwanda's 30-day visa-free entry policy, expanding travel access between both nations. The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) announced this on Friday, stating that all arrangements for the implementation are complete following President Bola Tinubu's directive.
Presidential Directive
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had disclosed that Nigeria would consider reciprocating Rwanda's 30-day visa-free status for Nigerians. According to The Guardian Nigeria, Tinubu made this remark during a conversation with Rwandan President Paul Kagame in Kigali at the ongoing Africa CEO Forum.
Official Announcement
The announcement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, via her X handle on Friday. She confirmed that the reciprocal policy is now in effect, facilitating easier movement for citizens of both countries.
This development is expected to boost bilateral relations, trade, and tourism between Nigeria and Rwanda.
