Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has approved nearly N1 billion for the payment of outstanding entitlements owed to judiciary workers. The governor made this known while receiving the leadership of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Kaduna State Chapter, at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House.
Details of the Approval
The approval covers two months' salary arrears for April and May 2021, inherited from the previous administration, as well as leave grants for 2023, 2024, and 2025. It also includes long-overdue payments for robe and outfit allowances for judiciary workers.
Governor's Remarks
Governor Sani reiterated his administration's commitment to promoting fairness, responsibility, and respect for labour despite fiscal constraints. He commended judiciary staff for their role in upholding justice and strengthening public trust in the legal system, noting that their contribution remains vital to good governance.
Union's Appreciation
The union delegation, led by its Chairman, Mr. Auwalu Sarki, engaged the governor on issues affecting judiciary workers and expressed appreciation for recent government interventions addressing outstanding entitlements.
The governor reaffirmed his administration's commitment to improving staff welfare, upgrading judicial infrastructure, and sustaining cooperation between the executive and the judiciary to advance justice delivery in Kaduna State.
