The Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, has called on traditional and religious leaders to diligently work at promoting peace and unity among the citizenry. Speaking during the turbaning ceremony of three district heads, the Emir emphasized that peace and unity are essential elements for the socio-economic development of the country.
Role of Traditional and Religious Leaders
Alhaji Usman stated that traditional and religious leaders, as custodians of society, must make conscious efforts to promote peace, stability, and development in their domains and beyond. He urged citizens to uphold religious tenets, noting that faith, discipline, and strong moral values are vital in building a peaceful society.
Call for Unity and Cooperation
The Emir called for unity and cooperation among citizens, stressing the need to avoid envy and jealousy. Instead, he encouraged the promotion of love, understanding, and mutual respect. He added that collective responsibility and support for one another, especially the less privileged, remain essential for societal progress and divine blessings.
Turbaning Ceremony
The Emir commended the turnout of dignitaries and well-wishers at the turbaning ceremony, describing the large crowd as unprecedented since he became Emir several years ago. Those turbaned included Alhaji Ahmad Usman as Danmajen Katsina and District Head of Dankama; Alhaji Muhammadu Dikko Radda as Gwagwaren Katsina II and District Head of Radda; and Alhaji Abubakar Dardisu as Sarkin Mudurun Katsina and District Head of Muduru.

Governor Dikko Radda attended the event, joined by his Kano State counterpart, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the Governor of Zinder State, Damagaram (Republic of Niger). Other notable attendees included the Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, Engr. Aminu Usman Gumel; the Emir of Daura, Dr. Faruk Umar Faruk; and the Sultan of Damagaram (Zinder, Niger Republic), El Hadji Aboubacar Oumarou Sanda. Also present were prominent businessman Alhaji Dahiru Mangal; Special Adviser on Political Matters, Kabir Ibrahim Masari; and National Coordinator of AUDA-NEPAD, Hon. Salisu Jabiru Tsauri, among others.
