The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has released the final list of candidates who passed its 2024/2025 recruitment exercise for the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (ASC II). Successful candidates are required to upload a medical certificate of fitness within one week of the portal activation on July 29, 2026, or risk disqualification.
How to Verify Your Status
According to Abdullahi Maiwada, NCS National Public Relations Officer, candidates can check their names on the official NCS website or in selected national newspapers. Maiwada made this announcement in a statement issued on Monday, July 27, 2026, as reported by The Punch.
Successful candidates will receive instructions via registered email or SMS. They must log on to the designated portal using their National Identification Number or registered email to upload a valid medical certificate from a government-recognised hospital.
Portal Activation and Deadlines
“The Service wishes to inform all successful candidates that the portal link for the upload of the Medical Certificates of Fitness, as referenced above, will be activated on Wednesday, 29 July 2026. Candidates are required to complete the upload process within one week from the date of activation of the portal,” Maiwada said.
In addition to uploading the certificate, candidates must update their current state of residence and formally accept the provisional offer by clicking the “Accept Offer” button. Trainee Identification Numbers will be issued within one week after completing these steps.
Physical Screening and Compliance Warnings
Maiwada added that details about physical screening, including dates, venues, and required documents, will be communicated via official NCS channels. He warned that failure to meet any requirement or deadline will lead to disqualification and forfeiture of the provisional offer.
“On behalf of the Nigeria Customs Service Board, the Comptroller-General of Customs congratulates all successful candidates on their success in the recruitment exercise and looks forward to welcoming them into the NCS as they commence a career dedicated to professionalism, integrity, and service to the nation,” Maiwada stated.
Background of the Recruitment Drive
The recruitment exercise began in 2024, aiming to fill 3,927 vacancies across the Superintendent, Inspectorate, and Customs Assistant cadres. The online application closed in January 2025. In May 2026, the NCS opened a portal for shortlisted candidates to complete a final screening update, with a deadline of May 10, 2026.
Earlier, the NCS had warned Nigerians about a fake recruitment update circulating on social media, urging the public to ignore it as it did not originate from official channels. Authorities continue to caution job seekers against fraudulent messages.
