The All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that only the police can determine whether Senator Francis Fadahunsi's “kill them” comment was illegal. The party's National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, made this known while speaking on Arise TV, emphasizing that the police are responsible for contextualizing the senator's remarks.
Police to Handle Fadahunsi's Case
Morka said, “It is not for any of us to be second-guessing what was said or not said; that is the job of the police. He has been invited to explain his comments, and we must wait for the police to do their jobs and properly put his statements in context.”
The comment in question was made by Senator Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East, during a gathering with APC supporters ahead of the Osun governorship election scheduled for Saturday, August 15. The video of his remarks was shared on August 11 by popular musician Davido, who is also an indigene of Osun State.

In the video, Fadahunsi, speaking in Yoruba, is quoted as saying, “From now on, whenever you see Accord members, kill them. I authorise you to kill them. They have wives and children too. This is a Federal Government election. On election day, even if they come with voters card, we wont allow them to vote.”
The statement has drawn widespread condemnation from many Nigerians. In response, Fadahunsi has dismissed the video, claiming it was generated using artificial intelligence (AI) and that his actual words were that APC members should “kill” the Accord Party members with their votes during the election.

Despite the senator's denial, the APC publicity secretary insists that the police are the appropriate authority to investigate the matter. Morka urged the public to allow the police to carry out their duties without speculation.
The police have invited Senator Fadahunsi to explain his comments, and the party has expressed confidence in the police's ability to handle the situation properly.
