The Renewed Hope Ambassadors Network (RHAN) has congratulated Kano lawmaker Rt Hon Kabir Bichi on his appointment as Deputy Director of Finance/Treasurer II of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, describing the move as a strategic placement of tested competence at the heart of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election effort.
The group's National Coordinator, Opialu Fabian Opialu, issued a statement on Sunday, August 23, 2026, made available to Legit.ng, highlighting Bichi's background as Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations as evidence of his readiness for the financial role.
Bichi's Track Record Cited as Key Qualification
RHAN pointed to Bichi's service as a member of the House of Representatives representing Kano and his chairmanship of the House Committee on Appropriations, noting that his work in fiscal oversight, budget management, and constituency development gives him qualities directly useful in managing the campaign's financial operations.
"His wealth of experience, integrity and deep understanding of both national and local political dynamics make him the ideal choice for the strategic role of Deputy Director of Finance/Treasurer II," the group stated.
The network emphasised that the finance and treasury role is central to any presidential campaign, as it determines how funds are raised, managed, and directed to achieve results on the ground. With Bichi handling the financial architecture, RHAN said the party is assured of transparent, efficient, and impactful resource mobilisation that will translate into electoral success across the federation.
RHAN Pledges Nationwide Support for Tinubu's Campaign
Beyond congratulations, RHAN renewed its commitment to President Tinubu's second-term bid, pledging to mobilise members across the country in support of the Presidential Campaign Council.
The network framed the appointment as a point of pride for Kano State and the North-West region, saying it reflects the President's approach of building a campaign team from experienced public figures.
"RHAN believes that with leaders of Bichi's calibre in key positions, the Renewed Hope Agenda will not only be defended but expanded. We call on all progressive Nigerians to rally behind the campaign council and support the effort to secure another term for President Tinubu," the statement added.
APC 2027 Campaign DG Breaks Silence on Appointment
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Abdulaziz Yari, senator representing Zamfara West, accepted his appointment as director-general of the APC presidential campaign council for 2027. Yari called on APC members, supporters, and Nigerians across political divides to back Tinubu's re-election bid.
The APC unveiled a 108-member presidential campaign council on Saturday, with Tinubu named as chairman of the council. The appointments signal the party's preparation for the 2027 general elections, with key figures like Bichi and Yari taking on strategic roles in the campaign structure.
