Delta High Court Upholds Monarch's Position in Legal Dispute

The High Court sitting in Oghara, Delta State, has delivered a significant ruling in favor of His Majesty, King Obukohwo Monday Arthur Whiskey, Udurhie I, Ovie of the Great Idjerhe Kingdom. This decision came in response to an interlocutory injunction filed by Mr. Angus Omasoro, M. Ibori Emajemite, and others, seeking to challenge the monarch's authority.

Court Affirms Traditional Ruler's Status

In a statement issued by the Crown Otota (Iyasere) of the Great Idjerhe Kingdom, Chief Uzzi Onosia James Obriki, the ruling was described as a victory for truth and justice. According to the statement, the court's decision explicitly affirms King Whiskey's position and status as the recognized traditional ruler of Idjerhe Kingdom. Chief Obriki emphasized that this ruling reinforces confidence in the judicial process, stating that no individual can overturn what has been divinely ordained.

Legal Proceedings and Adjournment

The matter has been adjourned sine die, meaning it has been postponed indefinitely without a fixed date for continuation. This adjournment is pending the determination of motions already filed at both the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. Legal experts note that while an adjournment sine die indicates the case has not been finally disposed of, it allows for further legal review at higher judicial levels.

Call for Peace and Reliance on Verified Information
