The African Democratic Congress (ADC) mounted a challenge in the polling unit of a top All Progressives Congress (APC) senator during the Ekiti State governorship election, but the ruling party secured a decisive victory. Senator Yemi Adaramodu, representing Ekiti South Senatorial District, delivered his polling unit for the APC governorship candidate, incumbent Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO).
APC Dominates Senator's Polling Unit
In Ward 001, Unit 011, Owaosun/Tedio/Oloriawo, the APC garnered 137 votes, while the ADC, its closest rival, managed only 17 votes. The result underscores the stronghold of the APC in the senator's immediate constituency.
Results from Other Units
Similarly, in Unit 4, Ward 1, the APC secured 133 votes. The ADC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) trailed with 7 and 8 votes, respectively. These figures reflect the widespread support for Governor Oyebanji in the area.
According to Bada Yusuf, Politics and Current Affairs Editor at Legit.ng, the results highlight the APC's organizational strength in Ekiti State. The election, conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), saw peaceful voting across the state.
