ADC Vows to Field Candidates in 2027 General Elections, Dismisses Rumors
ADC Vows to Field Candidates in 2027 Elections

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has firmly denied allegations that it will not field candidates in the 2027 general elections, asserting its unwavering commitment to contest and secure victory in the polls. In a statement posted on X, the party's National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, described suggestions that the ADC would abstain from the elections as entirely baseless and intended to deceive the public.

ADC's Commitment to 2027 Polls

Abdullahi declared, "The ADC will present candidates in the 2027 general elections." He emphasized that the party would field contenders who are credible, competent, and nationally acceptable, capable of addressing Nigeria's myriad challenges. The party reiterated its mission to rescue Nigeria from what it perceives as the failures of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and to prevent a drift toward a one-party state.

Legal Compliance and Party Strength

Abdullahi stressed that the ADC operates within the law, fully complying with the constitution and the Electoral Act. He noted that there is no legal impediment to the party's participation in the next general elections. He characterized contrary claims as deliberate attempts to create confusion and weaken the party's expanding support base.

The ADC positioned itself as a leading opposition platform, intensifying efforts to build nationwide structures, mobilize supporters, and prepare for the 2027 vote. Abdullahi stated, "The ADC stands today as the primary opposition platform in Nigeria, and we take that responsibility seriously. We are not distracted by noise. We are focused on the real work: organizing across the country, mobilizing Nigerians who are tired of insecurity, rising costs of living, and limited opportunities, and building the structures required not just to contest, but to win."

The party remains resolute in its goal to offer a viable alternative to the APC and other political entities, aiming to restore hope and prosperity to Nigeria through democratic means.
