Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo has officially obtained the Allied Peoples Movement nomination form to contest for the Oyo Central Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections. The event took place on Monday at the party's state secretariat in Ibadan, drawing a large crowd of party members, supporters, and political associates who gathered to show their solidarity.
Supporters filled the venue with chants and party songs as Ajadi formally declared his intention to represent the district in the National Assembly. In his address to journalists after picking up the form, Ajadi explained that his decision was driven by a commitment to provide effective representation and responsive leadership to the people of Oyo Central.
“I have answered the call of my people and my party. Today marks the beginning of a renewed political journey aimed at giving the good people of Oyo Central quality representation, responsive governance, and a voice that will be heard clearly at the National Assembly,” he said.
Ajadi emphasized that his ambition goes beyond seeking political office, focusing on youth empowerment, women inclusion, infrastructure improvement, educational development, and economic growth within the senatorial district. He also expressed confidence in the APM's prospects for the 2027 elections.
“By the grace of God and with the support of the people, APM will win the presidential election, produce the next governor of Oyo State, and secure victories in the senatorial, House of Representatives, and State Assembly elections. Our party is growing stronger daily, and Nigerians are ready for a credible alternative,” he stated.
Supporters at the event described Ajadi's formal entry into the race as a major development for the party in Oyo State, highlighting his grassroots support and philanthropic activities across communities. Ajadi has been active in political advocacy, especially on youth participation in governance and democratic reforms.
Political observers believe his candidacy could shift the political dynamics in Oyo Central, one of the most strategically important senatorial zones in Oyo State due to its electoral strength and political influence.
