Young entrepreneur and Bayelsa Central Senatorial aspirant, Richard Akinaka, has successfully passed the screening process conducted by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the party’s senatorial primaries.
The screening exercise, held on Wednesday, formed part of the PDP’s internal process to assess the eligibility and preparedness of aspirants seeking elective positions under the party’s platform.
Speaking shortly after the exercise, Akinaka expressed satisfaction with the process and commended the party for its commitment to transparency and due diligence.
“Today, I underwent a comprehensive screening process with the PDP, and I am delighted to report that it was successful. The party’s dedication to thorough aspirant vetting is laudable, and I appreciate their diligence. This experience has been enlightening and compelling,” he said.
He also used the opportunity to call on the people of Bayelsa Central to actively participate in shaping the district’s future. “To our people, the time to shape our future is now,” Akinaka stated.
Akinaka, who has consistently projected himself as a grassroots-oriented candidate, is seeking to represent Bayelsa Central Senatorial District with a focus on inclusive development, youth empowerment, and improved representation for rural communities.
