Akwa Ibom: Umo Eno Affirmed Amid Massive Turnout

In Akwa Ibom State, party supporters turned out in large numbers for the governorship affirmation exercise involving Governor Umo Eno. Stakeholders described the development as a sign of growing public confidence in the administration. Supporters in Abak Urban Ward 3 celebrated the outcome, which many viewed as an endorsement of the governor’s policies and developmental achievements.

Commissioner for Information, Dr. Aniekan Umanah, praised the conduct of the exercise, describing it as peaceful and successful. He noted that the large turnout reflected appreciation for the governor’s governance style and developmental initiatives across the state. Umanah highlighted that Governor Eno had continued to improve infrastructure and social welfare through investments in roads, schools, and healthcare projects. He also pointed out that empowerment programs and sustained security efforts under the administration had contributed to peace and stability in the state.

Jigawa State: Candidate Emerges Amid Party Unity

In Jigawa State, the APC also conducted its governorship primary, where a consensus candidate emerged with strong party support. The exercise was marked by unity among party members, as leaders emphasized the need for cohesion to strengthen the party’s chances in the 2027 elections.

The governorship primaries are part of broader preparations by the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections. The ruling party continues consultations and internal processes aimed at presenting candidates across the country. Party leaders have consistently stressed the need for unity, consensus-building, and peaceful conduct during the nomination exercises to bolster the APC’s electoral prospects.

The APC’s confirmation of candidates in these key states signals the party’s strategic focus on retaining and expanding its influence in the upcoming elections. With strong incumbents and consensus candidates, the party aims to build on its governance record and mobilize support nationwide.
