APC Kaduna North Primary Sparks Controversy as Campaign Council Rejects Outcome
APC Kaduna North Primary Rejected by Campaign Council

The Abdulazeez Abubakar Kaka Campaign Council has strongly rejected the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election for Kaduna North Federal Constituency, describing the exercise as invalid and lacking any legitimate electoral process.

Allegations of Flawed Process

In a statement issued on Saturday, the campaign council insisted that what was announced as a primary election held on 16 May 2026 did not reflect any recognised voting arrangement under the party's internal guidelines. According to the group, supporters and accredited party members across the 12 wards of the constituency arrived at the designated venue expecting a transparent exercise, only to discover that there were no election officials, no voting materials, and no visible arrangement for any primary election to take place.

Questionable Results Announced

The council alleged that despite the absence of an electoral process, a group aligned with one of the aspirants later surfaced and announced results under what it described as questionable circumstances. It further characterised the development as a breach of internal party democracy and an attempt to impose a predetermined outcome, warning that such actions could undermine confidence in the APC's nomination process if not urgently addressed.

Call for Intervention

The statement called on the national leadership of the party to immediately intervene, investigate the circumstances surrounding the conduct of the exercise, and take steps to restore credibility to the process. The campaign council also urged its supporters to remain calm but firm, insisting that it would pursue all legitimate channels to ensure what it described as the protection of democratic rights within the party.

The statement was signed by Hon. Garba Adamu, Chairman of the Abdulazeez Abubakar Kaka Campaign Council.
