APC Supporters Prepare to Welcome Adelabu in Ibadan
Stakeholders, supporters, and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State are making preparations to receive former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, as he returns to Ibadan from Abuja. Adelabu is anticipated to land at Alakia Airport following his resignation on Wednesday, a decision widely associated with his renewed aspiration to contest the 2027 governorship election in the state.
Party loyalists and supporters began gathering at the airport as early as Thursday morning in eager anticipation of his arrival. After disembarking, he is scheduled to proceed to the Adebayo Adelabu Foundation office located in Jericho, Ibadan, where he will engage in consultations with his supporters and political associates.
Adelabu previously vied for the Oyo State governorship position in 2019 under the APC banner but was defeated by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Seyi Makinde. He also contested in 2023 on the platform of the Accord Party, yet again losing to the incumbent. The former minister has, however, reiterated his determination to seek the governorship seat in the 2027 general elections.
