The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Ade Adetimehin, has stated that the ruling party's ongoing electronic membership registration and revalidation exercise is a cornerstone of its strategic preparation for the 2027 general elections.
Digital Drive for Party Strength and Planning
Speaking in his Idanre hometown over the weekend after revalidating his own membership, Adetimehin emphasised that the e-registration is far more than an administrative update. He described it as an essential tool for planning, mobilisation, and reinforcing the party's foundation both in Ondo State and across Nigeria.
The state party chairman stressed that the digital move will ensure a credible and verifiable membership database, which is fundamental for enhancing internal democratic processes and improving coordination at ward, local government, and state levels.
Mobilising Grassroots and Justifying Numerical Strength
Adetimehin made a direct appeal to party leaders and executives at all levels to intensify grassroots mobilisation and awareness campaigns for the exercise. He argued that proper documentation is necessary to accurately justify the party's numerical strength, a key factor in political strategy.
"Let me use this opportunity to encourage our party members to actively participate in the ongoing e-registration exercise," Adetimehin stated. "The success of this process will determine how well we organise, plan and mobilise as a party." He urged all members to come out en masse to register or update their details.
The process is designed to capture new entrants while updating the records of existing members, ensuring accurate representation and participation in future party activities.
Commitment to Transparency, Technology, and Unity
Adetimehin assured members of fairness and transparency in the party's affairs and urged executives to mobilise members to take advantage of the exercise, which he described as simple, transparent, and accessible. He promised that the party leadership would address any technical challenges to ensure no willing member is left out.
He further noted that the e-registration aligns with the APC's commitment to reforms and leveraging technology to deepen participation and accountability within its structures. Adetimehin reaffirmed that unity and discipline remain critical to the party's progress in Ondo State.
Concluding his remarks, the chairman reaffirmed the APC's commitment to the principles of justice, equity, fairness, and inclusive governance, assuring that the party would continue to carry the people along in all its programmes.
