Former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ibrahim Mohammed Baba, has emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Bauchi North Senatorial District, defeating the incumbent Senator Sama'ila Dawuwa Kaila. The result was announced in Bauchi by the chairman of the National Assembly Primary Election Committee for Bauchi State, Brig. Gen. Saidu Abdulhameed (retd), after the collation of results.
Primary Election Details
Brig. Gen. Saidu Abdulhameed (retd) confirmed that Baba contested the APC ticket alongside two other candidates, including the incumbent Senator Kaila and Sirajo Ibrahim Tanku. In the final tally, Hon. Ibrahim Mohammed Baba secured 22,764 votes, while Senator Kaila garnered 12,912 votes, and Tanku received 5,202 votes.
Winner Declared
“Therefore, Ibrahim Mohammed Baba, having satisfied the requirements and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner of the primary election for the Bauchi North Senatorial District,” Abdulhameed stated. This victory sets the stage for Baba to contest the general election in 2027, representing the APC in Bauchi North.
