Award Presentation

On Monday, May 11, 2026, the award was presented at the magazine's boardroom. Seye Kehinde commended Bamigbetan's political style, describing it as rooted in intellectual engagement, strategic communication, and grassroots mobilisation. The ceremony was followed by an extensive interview where Bamigbetan discussed his ambition for the House of Representatives, his prospects in the May 18, 2026, party primaries, and his assessment of the Tinubu administration's performance.

Political Journey and Confidence

Bamigbetan praised President Bola Tinubu's administration for implementing its campaign promises but noted that some reforms required difficult but necessary policy decisions. He expressed confidence ahead of the primaries, stating that his years of experience and consistent party loyalty position him as a strong contender. "I am ready for the party primaries. I was prepared to win in 2015 and 2023 before I was persuaded to step down for incumbents. I have now recharged and rebuilt my political structure, and I am more formidable than ever," he said.
