Supporters and stakeholders in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State have pledged support for the senatorial ambition of Governor Bala Mohammed ahead of the 2027 general elections through the newly unveiled “Kaura Movement”.
Movement Launch
Leader of the group, Mohammed Bello Maiwada, disclosed this during the unveiling of the support group in Alkaleri, describing the initiative as a platform to mobilise wider grassroots support for the governor’s senatorial ambition in 2027. Maiwada, who is the Commissioner for Natural Resources Development in the state, described Governor Bala as a committed democrat and grassroots politician whose administration has continued to execute meaningful developmental projects across Bauchi State.
Widespread Support
He said stakeholders and residents of Bauchi South Senatorial District were fully prepared to mobilise support for the governor through the Kaura Movement. According to him, all the seven local government areas of Bauchi South Senatorial District, and other parts of the state, had benefited significantly from the administration’s developmental projects and people-oriented policies, describing the governor as “a visionary leader with a proven track record”.
Maiwada explained that the Kaura Movement was established as a strong political structure aimed at promoting the senatorial ambition of Kauran Bauchi and other aspirants under the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement ahead of the 2027 general elections. He added that the movement comprises respected elders, youths, women groups, political stakeholders and intellectuals drawn from across the zone, all working collectively to strengthen the political fortunes of the party and ensure continued democratic leadership in the state.
Commitment to Success
The commissioner assured party supporters and members of the Kaura Movement of unwavering loyalty and commitment toward ensuring the success of Governor Bala Mohammed and all APM candidates in the forthcoming elections. He called on the people of Bauchi South and the entire state to sustain their support, unity and cooperation to achieve the desired political victory in 2027.
Several speakers at the rally passed a vote of confidence in the leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed, expressing optimism that he would emerge victorious in the election. They pledged their commitment to ensuring the emergence of the governor as senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District through the support of the Kaura Movement.
Reasons for Support
The speakers attributed their support to the governor’s “record of good governance, technocratic competence and developmental achievements across the state”. They also commended his style of governance, noting that his experience and leadership qualities would further advance the interests of Bauchi South at the national level if elected senator.
The stakeholders called on eligible citizens to take advantage of the third phase of the Continuous Voter Registration exercise conducted by Independent National Electoral Commission to enable them participate in electing leaders of their choice in the forthcoming general elections. They described the formation of the Kaura Movement as a timely political initiative capable of fostering unity and strategic political coordination within the party and pledged readiness to work tirelessly for the success of the movement and all APM candidates during the 2027 elections.
The unveiling ceremony attracted party loyalists, community leaders, youth organisations and women groups from different parts of Bauchi State, many of whom expressed optimism that the movement would enhance political participation and strengthen democratic engagement across the state.
