Borno APC Backs Tinubu, Shettima for 2027 Re-election

The Borno State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima as the party's candidates for the 2027 general elections. This decision was reached during a high-level stakeholders meeting held on Saturday in Maiduguri, the state capital.

Stakeholders Meeting

The meeting, presided over by Governor Babagana Zulum, saw an unprecedented attendance from party stalwarts across all 27 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Borno State. The endorsement resolution was reaffirmed following a motion by Governor Zulum, who called on all stakeholders to work together to secure a massive victory for the APC in Borno during the upcoming polls.

Governor Zulum's Appeal

In his address, Governor Zulum emphasized the importance of unity among party members. “Our party’s victory at the forthcoming polls can only be achieved when the long-standing unity among stakeholders is maintained,” he declared. He highlighted that his administration has been fair to all political stakeholders over the past seven years and prayed for God’s guidance for a successor who will build on the successes achieved so far. Zulum assured stakeholders that politics will not deter him from delivering democratic dividends, especially to rural communities.
