The Yobe South All Progressives Congress Christian Forum (APC-CF) has unanimously endorsed Baba Malam Wali to contest the Yobe State governorship election in the 2027 general elections. The endorsement was announced during the 2026 Economic Progress and Development Summit (EPDS), where Christian stakeholders from Yobe South resolved to support continuity and inclusive leadership.

Endorsement Details

The communique, signed by the Forum's Convener, Omale John Achimugu, on Saturday in Damaturu, described Wali, a former Secretary to the Yobe State Government, as a seasoned administrator with extensive experience, competence, and institutional memory. The Forum praised his capacity to sustain developmental projects initiated by Governor Mai Mala Buni.

Inclusive Governance Praised

The Forum lauded Governor Buni for integrating Christian communities into governance, restoring peace, providing infrastructure, and empowering youths and women. Members noted that such inclusivity has strengthened democratic participation and fostered a sense of belonging among minorities.

"We are not just political supporters; we are partners in Yobe State's collective destiny," the communique stated. It also called on stakeholders, youths, women, and religious groups to rally behind the vision of continuity, unity, and inclusive governance for economic growth.

The forum pledged to engage in peaceful, issue-based campaigns and uphold democratic processes, positioning itself as a bridge-building bloc within the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
