David Mark Assures ADC's Future Amid Party Setbacks
Senator David Mark, the national chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has provided strong reassurances about the party's future, stating that despite recent challenges, the ADC will remain focused and unshaken. This declaration comes in response to a significant setback imposed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which suspended recognition of the party's leadership. The commission's action is based on its interpretation of an Appeal Court pronouncement, which calls for maintaining the status quo ante bellum in the ongoing leadership disputes within the ADC.
Easter Message and Call for National Harmony
In an Easter message signed by his Media Aide, Paul Muneh, Senator Mark extended his wishes to Nigerians, urging them to embrace religious harmony, peace, and national unity. The former Senate President described Easter as a season that embodies sacrifice, hope, renewal, and the triumph of light over darkness. He emphasized the importance of reflecting on virtues such as love, selflessness, and forgiveness, as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
Mark stressed the need for all Nigerians, regardless of religious, ethnic, or political affiliations, to promote peaceful coexistence and mutual respect. He highlighted that the country's diversity should serve as a source of strength rather than division, and appealed to citizens to remain calm and law-abiding to sustain peace and stability nationwide.
ADC's Resilience and Democratic Commitment
Reassuring Nigerians about the state of his party, the ADC chairman affirmed that the party remains strong, united, and unshaken despite recent challenges. According to him, the temporary setbacks have only reinforced the party's resolve and strengthened its commitment to democratic ideals and the delivery of good governance.
Mark stated, "ADC remains focused and unwavering in its mission to enthrone democratic ethos, uphold the rule of law, and provide purposeful leadership that addresses the needs and aspirations of Nigerians." He expressed confidence in the future of the party, affirming his commitment to leading the ADC to victory in the 2027 general elections.
Optimism for Nigeria's Future
Further expressing optimism, Mark noted that the Easter celebration should inspire renewed faith and hope for a better Nigeria. He wished all Christians a peaceful and joyful Easter celebration, reinforcing his message of unity and progress. This comprehensive statement underscores the ADC's determination to overcome obstacles and contribute positively to Nigeria's political landscape, while also calling for national solidarity in these challenging times.
