Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has received a significant boost for his re-election bid as members of the State Executive Council donated N100 million to his campaign. The donation, presented during a meeting at the Governor's Office in Ado-Ekiti, was described by the council members as a token of their love and support for the governor's second term ambition.
Donation Details
Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro, and Special Adviser on Political Matters, Jide Awe, made the donation on behalf of their colleagues. They expressed delight in being part of the governor's team and reaffirmed their commitment to securing his re-election. Governor Oyebanji expressed profound gratitude, calling the gesture a show of love and solidarity.
Chief of Staff Niyi Adebayo, who also serves as Secretary to the Campaign Council, confirmed that the funds have been received into the campaign account. Prof. Akeem Azeez, Coordinator of the Welfare Committee of the executive council, thanked members for their generous contributions that made the donation possible.
Local Government Campaign Tour
Governor Oyebanji has commenced his local council campaign tour, warning supporters against violence before and during the election. He urged them to use their votes as weapons to defeat the opposition. The Chairman of Ekiti APC, Sola Eleshin, praised the solidarity behind the governor, attributing it to his unprecedented achievements across all sectors in three and a half years. Eleshin called on the Ikole community to turn out massively for the governor, promising continued delivery of democratic dividends after re-election.
In response, Oyebanji thanked the Ikole community for their enduring support and vowed to consolidate on his first-term achievements. A youth leader, David Valentine, commended the governor's developmental strides, especially in youth development, and promised to deliver more votes from the local council than any other area.
The governor also visited Oye Local Council, where he urged supporters to vote massively for the APC to secure Ekiti for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
