Former member of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Maria Ude Nwachi, has officially declared her intention to contest for the Ebonyi South Senatorial District seat in the Senate under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). She has pledged to deliver impactful and people-focused representation if elected.
Background and Motivation
Nwachi, who served as the representative for Ebonyi North-East Constituency from 2015 to 2019, stated that her decision to run for the Senate is fueled by a deep passion for service and a steadfast commitment to improving the lives of her constituents. Known widely by her initials MUN, she enjoys strong grassroots support, having previously won a House of Assembly seat under a relatively obscure political party.
Declaration and Vision
Shortly after formally declaring her interest, the social media influencer and philanthropist emphasized that true leadership should be assessed by the positive impact it has on the people. “As a community-driven person, I have all it takes to offer the people a special kind of representation in the National Assembly that will impact their lives positively,” she said. “I possess the competence, credibility and capacity to deliver results. Leadership must be measured by its impact on the people.”
She further elaborated, “I am contesting this election to touch lives, liberate my people and unify them. I am running to restore transparency and accountability in the zone, and I cannot do it alone without the support of the people.”

Nwachi also revealed that she would soon unveil her comprehensive manifesto and begin engaging with party members and constituents across the district in preparation for the election.
