Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, widely recognized as Jandor, has officially obtained the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest the 2027 Lagos State governorship election. This development was confirmed by his campaign team on Wednesday, marking his formal entry into the race for the party's ticket ahead of the general elections.
Commitment to Internal Democracy
The campaign team highlighted that this move underscores Jandor's participation in the party's internal processes and his endorsement of its established nomination procedures, which include the use of direct primaries for elective positions. In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Gbenga Ogunleye, Adediran reaffirmed his alignment with the APC's stance on internal democracy, emphasizing that such processes would enhance member participation and strengthen party cohesion.
Appreciation for Party Leadership
Adediran expressed gratitude to the party leadership at both national and state levels, reiterating his respect for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other party leaders whose guidance, he noted, continues to shape the progressive direction of the APC. He also acknowledged the support from party stakeholders and groups that have endorsed his ambition, while recognizing the right of other aspirants and their supporters to pursue their political interests within the party.

According to him, internal competition within a political party is a normal feature of democracy and should be conducted in a manner that promotes unity and mutual respect. The statement also extended gratitude to members of the JAGABAN–JANDOR 2027 Movement, youth coalitions, and other supporters who contributed financially towards the purchase of the nomination forms.
