Ralph Nwosu Warns 2027 Elections Won't Hold Without ADC on Ballot
Nwosu: 2027 Elections Won't Hold Without ADC

The Founding National Chairman of the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ralph Nwosu, has issued a stark warning that the 2027 general elections will not take place if his party is not included on the ballot. Speaking on Wednesday in Abuja during the ADC Youths Champion and Prospective Legislative Summit, Nwosu asserted that the ADC has already gathered the necessary statistics and numbers to defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming elections.

ADC Claims Massive Membership Drive

Nwosu revealed that the ADC's online portal has recorded over 5 million individuals eager to pay membership fees and join the party. He projected that by the close of registration, the party would have at least 11 million members ready to contribute financially. This surge in membership, he argued, demonstrates the widespread desire for political change and youth inclusion in Nigeria's governance.

Senators Defecting to ADC

According to Nwosu, several serving senators from the ruling APC and other political parties have been in talks with ADC leadership to join the party. He stated, "Despite the challenges the government is deliberately throwing at us, yesterday some senators decided they are joining the ADC." He further emphasized, "All I know is that Tinubu and Amupitan cannot conduct any election in this country if ADC is not on the ballot."

Call for Commitment

The ADC founding father urged party members to remain committed and steadfast, noting that the opposition party has already allocated 50% of its positions to young people and women in its constitution. He declared, "The time is over for Tinubu politically, and he must go. The time is over for Akpabio (Senate President), and they must go." Nwosu's remarks underscore the ADC's determination to challenge the current administration and secure a place on the ballot for the 2027 elections.
