The Obidient Movement has declared that the unification of support groups for Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso will create an unstoppable force in the 2027 presidential race. The newly formed OK Movement aims to unite Nigerians across ethnic and religious lines to drive national renewal.
Unveiling of OK Movement Structures
In a statement signed by National Publicity Secretary Justin Ijeh, the movement announced the establishment of its national and state structures. The statement emphasized that national renewal is a collective duty, not the task of any single group. It read: "Nigeria stands at a defining crossroads. Today, as our people endure the weight of unprecedented economic hardship, the soaring cost of living, and the persistent shadow of insecurity, the Obi–Kwankwaso (OK) Movement formally announces the unveiling of its national and state structures."
Vision for National Rebirth
The movement described itself as a "coordinated, nationwide engine for systemic reform and national rebirth." It acknowledged the struggles faced by Nigerians, from farmers unable to harvest safely to entrepreneurs stifled by a volatile economy. The statement added: "Yet, in this moment of darkness, the OK Movement stands as a beacon of resolute hope. Our mission is anchored in a singular, unwavering conviction: Nigeria will be OK."
The group rejected tribalism, regionalism, and religious sentiment, calling for unity based on integrity and competence. It invoked the third stanza of the National Anthem: "Oh God of all creation, grant this our one request. Help us to build a nation where no man is oppressed, and so, with peace and plenty, Nigeria may be blessed."
Coordinator's Projections for 2027
In an exclusive interview with Legit.ng in Awka, Anambra State coordinator Comrade Charles Obiora Anueyiagu claimed that combining Obi's and Kwankwaso's 2023 votes would yield an automatic victory. He stated: "In the 2023 election, Peter Obi scored 6 million and a fraction of votes. Obi got over 8 million votes, which they denied him, and gave him only 6 million and some fraction votes. In that election, Rabiu Kwankwaso scored one million and a fraction votes. If you add the two, it is already over eight million votes."
Anueyiagu emphasized that the merger represents a strategic evolution: "The experience of the 2023 presidential election taught us some lessons. We've graduated in experience. I believe that the two forces coming together now will lead to automatic salvaging of the country, which will bring positive results that will, in turn, give Nigeria good leadership."
Parallel Warning from Prophet
Separately, Prophet Elijah Ayodele of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church warned that some state governors may face defeat in the 2027 elections, specifically mentioning Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Sokoto, Kano, and Kaduna states.
