Ogun APC Unveils Yayi's Deputy for 2027 Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has officially unveiled Alhaja Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun as the party's deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 election. She will run alongside Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.

Announcement at APC Caucus Meeting

Governor Dapo Abiodun announced Adegunwa-Balogun's selection on Sunday, June 14, 2026, during the APC Strategic Caucus Meeting held at the party secretariat in Abeokuta. The governor stated that her emergence followed the zoning of the deputy governorship position to Ogun East Senatorial District.

According to Abiodun, extensive consultations with party leaders and stakeholders across the state led to her choice. He emphasized the need for equity and fairness, noting that since the governorship candidate is from Ogun West, the deputy should come from Ogun East.
