Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has commended members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for their peaceful conduct and commitment during the House of Representatives primary election. In a statement released on his X handle on Saturday, the governor described the orderly conduct as a reaffirmation of the unity, stability, and strength of the APC across all levels.
Beginning of Democratic Processes
Abiodun noted that the House of Representatives primary marks the start of a series of internal democratic processes within the party. He stated, “This exercise marks the beginning of a series of important democratic processes within the party, with the senatorial primaries scheduled for Monday, followed by the House of Assembly, governorship, and presidential primaries in the coming days.”
Appreciation for Officials
The governor also extended his appreciation to returning officers, electoral officials, members of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and security agencies for ensuring a peaceful and credible exercise. He emphasized that their professionalism contributed to the success of the primary.
Congratulations to Winner
Abiodun congratulated Funmi Efuwape on her emergence as the APC candidate for Remo Federal Constituency. He remarked, “Her emergence reflects the confidence and trust reposed in her leadership capacity, dedication, and commitment to the ideals of our great party.” The governor expressed confidence in Efuwape’s ability to provide quality representation for her constituents with integrity and diligence.
