The House of Representatives has officially announced the new leadership team for its minority caucus, with Frederick Agbedi from Bayelsa State appointed as minority leader. Agbedi's Background and Party Affiliation
Agbedi, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) representing the Ekeremo/Sagbama Federal Constituency, now leads the minority caucus in the green chamber. He is associated with the PDP faction aligned with former minister Kabiru Turaki, bringing extensive legislative experience to his new role.
Other Appointments Announced
The Speaker also named Abdussamad Dasuki of the African Democratic Congress as deputy minority leader. Dasuki represents the Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal Constituency in Sokoto State. Additionally, Mansur Manu Soro of the Allied Peoples Movement was appointed as minority whip, representing the Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency of Bauchi State. These appointments complete the principal officer positions allocated to opposition parties in the House.
While announcing the new officers, Speaker Abbas emphasized that the nominations received full backing from the minority caucus.
