A University don and member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Professor Iornumbe Joseph Usar, has pledged to provide quality, credible representation that will respond to the yearnings and aspirations of the people. Speaking with journalists after picking his nomination and expression of interest forms to contest the Gwer/Gwer-West Federal Constituency seat, the Professor of Health Economics and Health Policy at the University of Jos stated that his ambition was based on the clarion calls from his constituents and his conviction that the people of his constituency deserve better representation.
Call for Informed Choices
The aspirant called on all well-meaning people of Gwer/Gwer-West Federal Constituency to make informed choices during the forthcoming general elections by supporting APC candidates across the state. He urged them to ensure the re-election of Governor Hyacinth Alia and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, not just for continuity sake but for the betterment of the state and Nigeria in general.
Commitment to Development
The University don said his ambition was driven by a commitment to deliver effective representation, purposeful leadership, and attract federal projects to the constituency that will serve as legacies and dividends of democracy. He reiterated his commitment to advocacy, infrastructure development, and job creation if elected. He maintained that bringing sustainable development, transparent representation, and actionable reform to his constituency will not be compromised if elected.
Passion for Service
The aspirant emphasized that his decision stems from his passion for service and a belief that his experience in public service and unwavering commitment to positively change the lives of his people will significantly improve his constituency, state, and Nigeria in general. He condemned politics of violence, stressing that democracy affords the people the opportunity to decide their representatives and should be allowed to exercise that constitutional right without any form of intimidation or arm-twisting.
