Sokoto 2027: Ex-Deputy Gov Dan’iya Wins ADC Ticket

Former Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Manir Muhammad Dan’iya, has been selected as the consensus governorship candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2027 general election. The announcement was made on Friday through a statement issued by his former Press Secretary, Aminu Abdullahi Abubakar.

Dan’iya, who served as deputy to former Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, expressed gratitude to party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters for their confidence in him. He described his emergence as a significant responsibility and pledged to work for unity, stability, and development across the state.

Holding the traditional title of Walin Sokoto, Dan’iya acknowledged Tambuwal’s support and guidance, noting that the backing from elders, youths, women’s groups, and political associates reflects a shared vision for the state’s future. He emphasized that the ADC movement represents a fresh push for inclusive leadership, good governance, and people-oriented policies ahead of the 2027 governorship race.
